Make no mistake. Your baby was meant to be yours.
God gave you that baby, not someone else. You were meant to be their mom. Believe it or not, a child will bring joy in the darkest of circumstances. Your baby is just what you needed at this time in your life even if it doesn't seem like it. When you are at your lowest of lows, that little smiling face will lighten your day.
Even if the baby was conceived in an ugly or wrong circumstance, God created something good out of it and blessed you anyways....a beautiful little human being with a lifetime of memories ahead of them. That's how good God is. He actually will bless us in our wrongdoing. Consider the precious gift of life you have been given. Give the same to them. They will thank you and one day and they might be the one to care for you when you are old. Children are blessings. They are your heritage, your legacy. They are the ones who will call you to chat as an adult friend, that sit around your Thanksgiving table, that bring you your grandbabies.
If you absolutely feel that you cannot care for a baby at this time in your life, you don't have to be ashamed. Your choice to put your babies wellbeing first by giving them up for adoption is honorable. It shows that you were willing to suffer the shame of giving your baby away so that your child could have life. Not an easy thing to do. It shows that you loved them enough to protect their life.
Adoption is an act of love.
